ENGLAND
LONDON, UK - The four individuals were convicted by the Southwark Crown Court in London for attacking the former Indian Lt. General Kuldeep Brar, who participated in the bloody assault on the Sri Darbar Sahib complex in 1984 that resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent men women and children and destroyed Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the historic Sikh Reference Library.
The convicted were named as Mandeep Singh Sandhu, 34, and Dilbag Singh, 37 - given a sentence of 14 years each. Harjit Kaur, 39, was given a sentence of 11 years and Barjinder Singh Sangha, 33, was given 10+ years.
The retired Lt. General was visiting London last year when he was allegedly attacked on September 30th, 2012 for his role in the June 1984 military assault on Sri Dabar Sahib. Brar, along with Lt. General Krishnaswamy Sundarji and Lt. General Ranjit Dyal had planned the attack which was codenamed Operation Blue Star and ordered by Indira Gandhi.
Brar now lives under extraordinary security that is being provided by the Indian government and travels in bullet-proof automobiles escorted by Indian army commandos. Interestingly no security was provided to him during his 2012 visit to London.
