Thousands Attend Antim Sankar for Shaheed Bhai Jagjeet Singh
NEW YORK, NY - Condemning the State violence against Sikhs in Jammu, a US based human rights group Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) announced $20,000 (twenty thousand dollars) compensation for the family of Bhai Jagjeet Singh who was killed in police firing.
Bhai Jagjeet Singh of RS Pura was shot dead by the police while protesting against the removal of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's billboard informing the public about June 06 congregation at Simbal Camp.
Rights group stated that compensation is to honor Bhai Jagjeet Singh who sacrificed his life while democratically protesting against the removal of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's billboard informing the public about June 06 congregation at Simbal Camp Jammu.

On Saturday, the antim-sanskar (final rites) of the 26 year old slain Sikh youth, who has also been identified in the media as Jasjeet Singh or Jashmeet Singh were observed in Jammu as crowds of thousands of Sikhs attended the emotional ceremony for the Sikh Nation's latest Shaheed (Martyr).
Meanwhile, Military and Police forces have been deployed in all Sikh-dominated towns in Jammu, including Nanak Nagar, Digiana, Kunjwani and Gole Gujral areas of Jammu city, with the law enforcement holding military style flag marches throughout various districts as a show of strength.
